Monday I was working on the wall with the archway leading on to the steps. happy with how it turned out but I need to make a few tweaks because i'm not sure I like the way it meets the floor.
I spent today redoing the floor that I built. It looked completely pants in Max because the normal map wasn't lined up properly. I brought out one from Photoshop instead and it looks a lot better now.
Also made a start of the treasure chest. the corners are a bit troublesome but the texture is starting to come along nicely. will get some pics up after I have some renders.

tweak

Faded the overlays a little bit. I thought it was too intense. I like it more now..

more texturing

Started work on texturing the dungeon steps. I'm pretty happy with it so far. It might be a little bit of a challenge getting it to blend nicely where it meets with the floor but we'll see how it goes.

almost done

Stean reckons it's pretty much done so i'll gonna see where the tentacles end up and then perhaps add a little more detail on the edges of the bed later on. Sure is much more fun texturing in 3D.

Got the bricks inside looking different with a better tiled stencil. the normal comes out quite nicely now :) still not finished though! but i'm still getting to grips with mudbox even now. things should start moving faster soon.

I've spent the day messing with this in spudbox and got a normal map and texture out of it. still needs a lot of work but i'm quite happy with it so far.

Here we go. I spent a lot of time working on a skull today. But it was really challenging and I was feeling good about it when I could feel it coming together so I got a bit obsessed. Good first try if I do say so ;) needs a bit of tweaking though:

On We March.

Sorry for the quiet spell. I've been working on making some trees for the village. It's something I've never tried making before so it feels like a little bit of a challenge. I'm not really all that used to organic stuff...last thing was the character last year really...
so here you go:



after todays presentations I've had a bit of a talk with Stean and Dash and found that I need to start planning ahead a bit more. Particularly with the dream-version of the village that I'm going to be creating. So i'll be planning that out more soon. with Comparisons of original and dream world, if only with a box rendered in max with a comparison of textures.

Hello again friends. I've started pre-production for my 3rd year work. I'm going to be re-creating the town from 'Alundra' in glorious next-generation 3D. at least that's the aim :)
I will start updating this regularly again once I have something to show other than a word document.

hey folks. Just a quick update since it's been a while.
I don't have a render of the textured character up here. so here we are. Not the best of renders but there will be more to follow. I'm getting stuck into animation at the moment and a deadline looms! eeeep!B.
